Team Lead - Project Office

Job description

One of our clients from the food retail industry is currently looking for a project office team lead to join their team.

Description

Reporting to the Director of the Project Office, the mandate holder is responsible for offering the stakeholders of the project portfolio an optimal and unparalleled experience in Project Management. The team leader will work in close collaboration with the project managers, the directors of the competence centers and the project sponsors in order to ensure the good alignment of the project and to supervise the latter from a Project Office point of view. On the one hand, he will ensure that the skills of project managers are developed and that they are coached throughout the project life cycle (ie: tips for planning and estimating projects, tips for preparing and structuring team meetings and sponsorship committees, tips for clearly articulating decision points and escalating points, etc.). In addition, he will oversee the work of project managers in the production of project management deliverables and ensure their quality (ie: project organization manual, project charter, project plan, cost model, registers and action plans, status report, project initiation, transfer to operations and project closure document.)

Description of tasks and responsibilities

- Assist the Management to manage the delivery activities of Programs and Projects of the Project Office;

- Be a coach with project managers and project controllers in order to achieve the objectives of the Project Office;

- Plan the activities of his team within the various projects and participate in the linking of interdependencies between the various projects in collaboration with the Competence Centers in accordance with the methodology specific to the Project Office;

- Plan and manage the capacity of his team members to deliver the projects for which his sector is responsible;

- Collaborate with the business teams and the IT division teams to ensure the effective implementation of the solutions provided by the projects for which the team is responsible;

- Stay on the lookout for trends and best practices in project management and suggest areas for improvement to its management in order to improve the effectiveness of its team and its interventions;

- Prepare individual and team follow-up meetings for his sector;

- Manage the team's resources assigned to their sector;

- Prepare and conduct performance evaluations of the resources of his team;

- Support the organization in the identification and development of talent, succession within the team under its responsibility and the maintenance of a high-performance team in accordance with the values ​​and pillars of the organization;

- Determine the performance targets of his team and supervise the achievement of these objectives;

- Support the members of the team under his responsibility towards the achievement of their objectives.

Requirements

- Possess a BBA in business administration or IT;

- Have more than 15 years of experience in project management and multi-team program in large companies;

- Have more than 7 years of experience in management and coaching of project managers and a great ability to mobilize a team towards the achievement of its objectives;

- Be bilingual, both orally and in writing;

- Possess excellent communication skills;

- Demonstrate a lot of autonomy and leadership while respecting the company standards in place;

- Demonstrate a great ability to manage priorities in a dynamic and changing context;

- Be oriented towards quality work / service and results;

- PMP;

- Experience in the retail industry (an asset).
